Check an electrical-panel recall by exact product information

Use the official recall scope and manufacturer process without generalizing by brand.

Explanatory planning diagram: check a panel recall carefully

Begin with the actual official notice

Search the official CPSC recall record and the manufacturer's current instructions for the particular product concern. Record the notice date, product description and the identifiers it requires. A news headline about a brand does not establish that every product carrying that brand is recalled.

The 2022 Schneider Electric notice is one specific example with its own product scope and remedy process. It should not be treated as a current eligibility finding for an unknown panel. Other notices may have different identifiers, procedures and responsible contacts.

Do not uncover equipment to complete a web checklist

Collect existing invoices, installation records or accessible external information if available. If the required identifier is not safely accessible without opening equipment, ask the qualified party or manufacturer how it should be verified. This guide does not instruct the homeowner to remove a panel cover.

Keep each identifier's source in the record. An installer document, a reported label and an official manufacturer's confirmation are different evidence. A photo or an uncertain transcription should not be converted into a definitive recall result, a safety assurance or a recommendation to replace unrelated equipment.

Keep the remedy separate from a new project

Follow the official recall and manufacturer process for eligibility and any remedy. Ask who is authorized to perform the relevant work and what documentation will be supplied. HAUSE intake does not claim to administer a manufacturer recall or to provide a free recall remedy.

If you are separately planning equipment additions or other electrical work, keep that scope and quote distinct. Do not turn a recall concern into an automatic service-size recommendation. Save the official response and any completed-work record. The purpose of the checklist is to preserve precise evidence and the appropriate contact path, without offering a remote condition assessment.

A worked planning example

A homeowner recognizes a manufacturer's name in a headline but does not have the required product identifiers. The correct record is a potential recall question, not a recalled-panel verdict. Save the official notice and ask how the manufacturer or qualified party will verify eligibility.

If the official response confirms that the product is outside the notice, preserve that response without extending it into a complete condition assessment. If eligibility is confirmed, follow the stated remedy process and retain the completed-work record. A separate improvement proposal should remain separate so a recall concern does not silently become a recommendation for additional capacity.

Keep in your brief

  • A brand alone is insufficient.
  • Keep electrical equipment closed.
  • Use the exact official remedy process.
